I am Deborah Jackson, retired reading specialist and teacher trainer. I have been a self-taught artist for over sixteen years. Creating art is my passion; I love creating unique jewelry using leather, beads, fiber, and found objects. I create sculptures of people from paper and other materials; I make African masks, wearable art clothing, funky vintage style summer and winter hats, paintings in oils and water color, cloth dolls and purses. I have a small business–Deja One of a Kind Handcrafted Designs. I get excited when I am out and about and I spy someone wearing one of my creations.
My people sculptures are approximately 24″ in height and 8″ in width. They each have props that help them to tell a story. Some jewelry pieces are small and some are no larger than 3″-4.” Hats are regular sized.
When I am not creating art, I love cloud watching as a means of meditation and inspiration for perhaps my next artistic project. I can’t wait to get started!
